The second day of this year's Mathew Street Festival brought another healthy crowd into the city centre to enjoy an afternoon of music new and old. Over 350,000 people packed the streets over the weekend with organisers hailing the two day event a great success
The atmosphere on the streets was a bit more chilled out from Sunday's over indulgences and a mix of wind and showers failed to deter music fans.
Opening the 'Made in Liverpool' stage on Williamson Square were Man Get Out a local band who have enjoyed a fantastic year so far including a live appearance on Janice Long's Radio 2 show. Admitting to being 'a bit rusty' after a performance free summer the band played a mixture of new material and older favourites to the growing crowd.
Punk four piece The Thespians followed with a set that could have come straight out of New York. Catchy riffs and memorable vocals, these leather clad rebels look set for big things.
Over on the Superlambanana stage in Tithebarn Street, punk tribute act The Sex Pistols Experience drew in one of the biggest crowds of the day. Theses guys easily won best tribute of the weekend with 'Johnny Rotter' and 'Kid Vicious' delivering the snarls, vocal and banter perfectly.
The ever popular Tunnel stage packed them in for an afternoon of female tributes with Paula Delaney's double appearance of Katy Perry and Lily Allen getting arms waving and singing voices warmed up. Derby Square played host to the '53 Number Ones stage', playing every single chart topper the city has produced.
Back in Williamson Square 70's band Supercharge made a welcome return to the city with original members including Ozzie Yue joining Albie Donnelly on stage.
Delta Maid the blues songstress from Wavertree made her first appearance at the festival and the singer, now signed to Geffen UK, entranced the crowd with a set of sweet acoustic Americana.
Former Space frontman Tommy Scott brought his new band The Red Scare to the festival and battled through the rain with a mix of new material and old Space classics before The Big House of Candie Payne and Paul Molloy (The Zutons) closed proceedings.
