The fourth annual Birkenhead Park Festival of Transport took place on the 17th & 18th September 2011. The free to enter festival is one Wirral's biggest tourist attractions for families held in the splendour of one of the nation’s finest parks.
The two day event is organised by members from the borough's Lions and Rotary clubs and provides an opportunity for visitors to nostalgically view a fine selection of classic cars and motorcycles produced during the heyday of British manufacturing.
The largest ever selection of working steam vehicles and traction engines were on show and Saturday's attendees were also treated to a flypast from a pair of RAF Spitfires
A Victorian Fairground complete with with Ghost Train was a featured attraction along with live music, food and craft stalls.
The festival draws an average attendance of 30,000 visitors each year.
