Liverpool Sound City have announced that chart storming UK Hip-hop star PROFESSOR GREEN will perform as one of the headline acts at the three day music festival this May (17-19). The first wave of acts announced for the event also include a return to Liverpool for White Denim and Death in Vegas.
Professor Green's debut album, 'Alive Till I'm Dead' crashed into the charts last year and went double-Gold, spawning four hit singles, including 'I Need You Tonight' and 'Monster'. The follow up album 'At Your Inconvenience' has enjoyed similar success with first single 'Read All About It' featuring Emeli Sandé going to number one back in October. His third album is due for release this summer and he will be premiering tracks from it at Liverpool Sound City.
White Denim, the Texas four piece who blend garage, progressive and psychedelic rock and are hugely lauded for their blistering live sets will perform tracks from their five revered and varied long players.
Psychedelic electronic innovators, Death In Vegas will be playing tracks from their 'Trans Love Energies' album. The record marks a return to their minimal techno roots.
As always the festival will feature the best in new music with Cloud Nothings, Yukon Blonde, Charli XCX, and Fixers also on board.
Dave Pichilingi, Sound City CEO comments "We're thrilled to announce the first wave of bands that'll make up the line-up for Liverpool Sound City 2012 - an eclectic mix of genres that makes our festival such an interesting, innovative, must-see event.
Liverpool Sound City brings established acts to intimate venues and introduces you to tomorrow's headliners today. With hundreds more bands, pop culture initiatives and a conference programme to be unveiled, Liverpool Sound City is the UK's premier cultural happening."
