Hard hitting open air street gallery arrives in Liverpool ONE

Tarnished Earth, a dramatic open air gallery of photographs by Jiri Rezac, telling the story of one of the world's biggest ecological disasters, arrives in Liverpool on 1st February as part of a tour staged by The Co-operative in conjunction with WWF-UK and Greenpeace. The three metre high installations of astounding images will be displayed in Thomas Steer Way, Liverpool One, until 22 February (2012).

Kevin Sampson to attend Clapperboard screening of Awaydays

AWAYDAYS is a 2009 British film directed by Pat Holden based on the best-selling novel of the same name by Kevin Sampson. The film will be screened at FACT on Mon 20 Feb as part of the Clapperboard presents series. Sampson and producer Dave Hughes will participate in a Question and Answer session with the audience after the screening.

Shortlist Announced For Liverpool Art Prize 2012

Local artists Alan Dunn, James Thompson (Tomo), Robyn Woolston and The Drawing Paper’s Jon Barraclough and Mike Carney have been revealed as the shortlist for the 2012 Liverpool Art Prize, when it returns for its 5th successive year in 2012. All four will exhibit their work at Metal, based at Edge Hill Station, Liverpool, from Fri 27 April – Sat 9 June in the hope of winning the prestigious prize.

Hollywood blockbuster gets UK premiere at Wirral cinema launch

The latest part of New Brighton's regeneration project Marine Point opened its doors last night as eight screen cinema complex The Light hosted a glittering charity launch party. Ticket holders and invited guests were treated to champagne, fish and chips, popcorn and the UK premiere of star studded movie 'New Year's Eve'.

Dot-Art present Fine Art and Dining at Hotel Indigo

Liverpool's art enthusiasts are invited to lunch at Marco Pierre White's restaurant for a special showcase event by dot-art. The event takes place on Weds 30 November, at the city's boutique Hotel Indigo and allows guests to enjoy a two-course meal while enjoying an illustrated talk from local artist Alistair Parker.
