Aled Jones and Adam Cooper join forces once more for Empire's festive show

The stars of White Christmas the Musical paid a visit to the Liverpool Empire on Monday to tell Liverpool all about the multi million pound festive spectacular, which runs at the theatre from 22 December 2011 until 7 January 2012.

Singer, actor, radio and TV Presenter Aled Jones returns to the role of Bob Wallace, a character he first played to great acclaim at The Lowry, Salford Quays while international dance star of stage and screen Adam Cooper (Matthew Bourne’s Swan Lake, Billy Elliott The Movie and principal dancer at the Royal Ballet) joins Aled in returning to the role of Phil Davis, the other half of the song and dance duo.

Following the theatre's decision to cancel the traditional festive pantomime earlier this year, White Christmas the musical arrives at the Liverpool Empire after a smash hit sell out run last year in Sunderland.

Irving Berlin’s White Christmas The Musical was first brought to the UK stage in 2006 by the Producers of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, appearing at the Plymouth Theatre Royal and The Mayflower Theatre Southampton. In 2007 it broke box office records at the Edinburgh Playhouse and Wales Millennium Centre. It played to sold out houses at the Marquis Theatre on Broadway (outselling Wicked) for the holiday season 2008/09.

With an ensemble of over thirty and a dynamic 17 piece orchestra, this dazzling musical is full of tap dancing, laughter and some of the greatest songs ever written, Irving Berlin’s White Christmas The Musical promises to be a merry and bright theatrical experience for the whole family.

Brimming with classic Irving Berlin hits like Blue Skies, How Deep is the Ocean, Happy Holiday, Sisters and of course the unforgettable title song White Christmas, it tells the story of two buddies putting on a show in a magical Vermont inn, and finding their perfect mates in the process.
